AAC Bestie is a speech application that vocalizes the user's input from a picture-based keyboard. Developed with children, parents, speech-language pathologists (SLPs), and caregivers in mind, AAC Bestie boasts a straightforward user interface, pre-configured keyboards tailored for users of varying proficiencies, and an extensive library of symbols exceeding 20,000 choices for custom button creation.
AAC Bestie offers button support in English and Russian, along with voice options in over 20 additional languages. Most languages provide users with the flexibility to select from various voices (such as male or female) and adjust parameters like voice pitch and rate for a personalized touch.
Featuring a growing assortment of pre-set keyboards, folders, and phrases that enhance communication efficiency, AAC Bestie ensures easy access to recent phrases for quick retrieval if needed. Users can also bookmark additional phrases to the Favorites section for convenient use.
Users may need to enable supplementary voices on their devices via Settings if required. This can typically be accomplished by navigating to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Speech -> Voices.
